This looks good, I can think of a couple of easy apps I’d like to write.

App Inventor requires NO programming knowledge. This is because instead of writing code, you visually design the way the app looks and use blocks to specify the app’s behavior.

Application numbers are really meaningless for both the iTunes App Store and the Android Market. A better metric, though subjective, would be how many *useful* apps are available.
