Plenty has been said already about the shambolic way Vodafone NZ has handled today’s launch of Apple’s new iPhone 4, but for me the most interesting thing to come out of this is a little gem in the NBR article,

Introducing Vodafone Data Plans for iPad

Published by under link

Link: Introducing Vodafone Data Plans for iPad

Vodafone are offering two data plans for the iPad: the Alpha plan costs $20 and includes 250MB of data, while the Extreme plan includes 3GB of data for $50.

While the pricing seems reasonable, I find it interesting how Vodafone explain the data limits. For example, did you know that if you sign up for the Alpha plan, you can only browse the web for 2.5 hours each month, which is about 5 minutes per day? That’s quite a limitation for a device which is perfect for browsing the internet on.

Michael Wolff on Rupert Murdoch’s paywall on the Times:
My sources say that not only is nobody subscribing to the website, but subscribers to the paper itself—who have free access to the site—are not going beyond the registration page. It’s an empty world.

Link: Apple’s Bumper case alleviates the iPhone 4 signal-loss problem

Is it just a coincidence that the first case that Apple have made for their iPhone also fixes the antenna issue? When the bumper cases were first released I heard people question why Apple was getting into the ‘cases game’. Perhaps now we know why…
